Despite the war and economic uncertainty, Ukraine’s agricultural sector continues to demonstrate its capacity for development. Investments in new technologies, production modernisation and infrastructure creation continue even in the most difficult times. One example of this approach is the construction of a modern feed mill at the private enterprise Agrofirma Dzvony in the Lviv region.
The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Dutch company Van Aarsen, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of equipment for the feed industry. The engineering partner and integrator is the Ukrainian Design & construction company CHIEF, which is the official representative of Van Aarsen in Ukraine and ensures the implementation of the Dutch manufacturer’s technologies at Ukrainian enterprises.

The construction of a feed mill is of strategic importance for Agrofirm Dzvony. The future complex, with a capacity of 240 tonnes of feed per day, will enable the creation of a closed production cycle: from grain cultivation to the production of feed for its own livestock. This approach increases the farm’s independence from the feed market and ensures stable product quality control.
«This is a truly important and strategic step for our farm. Creating our own feed production facility will allow us to fully control feed quality, be independent of external suppliers, and systematically develop our livestock business. We deliberately chose Van Aarsen technologies and cooperation with DCC CHIEF because the professional experience of our partners and their long-term vision of future cooperation are important to us. We are building our production not for a few years, but for decades to come, so we strive to work with those who share this approach», comments Zinoviy Maksymyshyn, director and owner of the private enterprise Agrofirma Dzvony.
The visit of Van Aarsen's representative to Ukraine is a symbol of trust.
The visit to Ukraine by Toby Janssen, regional sales manager at Van Aarsen, gave this project special significance. The visit by the representative of the Dutch manufacturer was not only a working event, but also an important symbol of support for Ukrainian business in the context of the war. The very fact that a European engineering partner came in person to monitor and consult demonstrates a high level of trust in Ukrainian entrepreneurs and their investment plans. Despite the fact that security risks have forced many European players to cancel business trips to Ukraine, Van Aarsen’s technical expert arrived in person. This demonstrates not only commercial interest, but also deep respect for partners and sincere commitment to the common cause.

«It is important for our company to be close to our partners at key stages of project implementplation. We see that Ukrainian entrepreneurs continue to invest in development even in the difficult conditions of war, and this commands our sincere respect. This approach deserves support and demonstrates that Ukraine remains an important part of the global agricultural market. This mill will be a modern European-level production facility. We are delighted that Van Aarsen’s technologies will be used at a Ukrainian enterprise, contributing to the development of local agribusiness and supporting Ukraine’s economic stability in these difficult times», emphasised Toby Janssen, Regional Sales Manager at Van Aarsen.
During the tour of the facility, guests had the opportunity to see for themselves the progress made in the construction of the new feed mill. The director of the agricultural company, Zinoviy Maksymyshyn, personally conducted a tour of the construction site, demonstrating the scale of future production. Where until recently there was only open ground, today the structures of the new enterprise are already rising: the production building and engineering units, which will soon house modern technological equipment.

«Together with our partners, we are not just building a factory, we are creating one of the examples of the future of Ukrainian agribusiness. This enterprise will demonstrate modern approaches to production and significantly increase its efficiency», added Zinoviy Maksymyshyn, director and owner of the private enterprise Agrofirma Dzvony.
A partnership that goes beyond equipment supply.
For Oleksandr Chumachenko, director of the CHIEF Design & Construction Company, this project is of particular importance. The company is not only implementing the construction and engineering part of the complex, but also acting as a technology partner, ensuring the integration of Dutch-made equipment into the enterprise’s production system.

«For us, this project is not limited to the supply of equipment. We support it as a comprehensive engineering solution, from design to full production launch. Our goal is to be not just suppliers, but technological partners. We are proud of the trust placed in us by Zinoviy Maksymyshyn, owner of Agrofirma Dzvony, and the opportunity to implement this ambitious project together with Van Aarsen», says Oleksandr Chumachenko, director of the CHIEF Design & Construction Company.
The heart of the future feed mill.
The technological equipment of the new feed mill forms a complete cycle of modern production. The basis of the complex is Van Aarsen equipment, which integrates all stages of the process into a single system, ensuring stability, efficiency and accuracy of production. Thanks to this comprehensive approach, the company is able to implement the latest technologies and maintain high quality standards at all stages of production. The most modern equipment will be installed, including a crusher, mixer, micro-dosing system, granulation line, including a grinder, sifter, and liquid spraying system. A soybean processing line. Transport equipment such as dosing screws, bucket elevators and conveyors.
All these elements work as a single technological complex, ensuring high quality of compound feed, accuracy of recipes and stability of the process. Integration of equipment creates effective logistical and technological interaction, allowing to optimise resources, minimise losses and increase productivity.
Van Aarsen and DCC CHIEF: trust and innovation.
The combination of European technologies from Van Aarsen, engineering expertise from DCC CHIEF, and the strategic approach of Agrofirma Dzvony is creating a new, modern production facility that will meet the highest industry standards. Most importantly, this enterprise is being created in Ukraine, despite all the challenges of the times. The implementation of the feed mill will have a significant economic effect on the region: new jobs, infrastructure development, increased tax revenues, and strengthening of the region’s agricultural sector.
The successful implementation of this project will serve as an example of how Ukrainian businesses continue to develop even in the most difficult times, investing in technology and the future. The cooperation between Ukrainian entrepreneurs and their European partners shows that even in times of hardship, economic ties are strengthening and new industries continue to emerge.
